CuriousMissex at the Supreme Court

Following our success at the supreme court during the night, and since a good friend
of ours had new latex, we decided to do a new shoot with her. Said friend is Curioumissex,
there are some photos of her sprinkled throughout the exibitionist tour. Those of you
who have been paying attention are probably perking up now, because she's quite the
looker! She's also a lot of fun, and this would be her first "serious" shoot with me.

A few plans didn't work out so we settled to use the back of the Supreme Court, which
has a very nice vista and is almost deserted during the weekend. Emboldened by our
success last time, we decided to do this during the day. Downtown Ottawa is very
quiet during the weekend, but we still wore some covering clothes and started getting
ready in earnest behind the Court building.

The plan was for Curious and Playful to have "matching" outfits, this included the new
hood from Latex Nemesis we had purchased during the Montreal Fetish Weekend.
The weather in mid September was just about perfect for this - warm but not too hot.

Then, a small disaster struck - the hood became partially undone. Unusable for the shoot.
(It should be mentioned that Latex Nemesis did repairs free of charge, so this is in
no way a stain on this maker). With the hood broken and Playful not wearing makeup, we
decided to focus the shoot on Curious more, as Playful and I knew we would shoot together
again soon.

Here we can see part of the view behind us, the Ottawa River and Gatineau on the other
side.

And here we can see the great view, Parliament Hill in all its glory. It's also a
pretty glorious angle for another reason!

All this glory was bound to attract attention. One or two passer by went by, but we
simply ignored them. However, an RCMP officer did show up. He was polite and friendly
and tried pretty hard to be professional, but I could tell that underneath he was pretty
pleased with this "distraction".

We had a brief chat, I mentioned we came here because we expected it to be fairly quiet
and we didn't want to cause a ruckus, and that I would expect the front of the parliament
to be far too busy. He agreed and said that in fact there was a demonstration (protest)
going on. I commented on how it was cool that we lived in a country where this (protest
in front of the parliament) was possible. He answered that it was free speech... and
that we were doing was free speech too!
Hurra Canada :D

I like these shots a lot - they show that Curious has potential, in part due to her
intriguing facial expressions, they add a lot to the shots. NOT FALLING was clearly
a priority here though, it's at least a 50 feet drop. That extra wide wall is very
convenient though. I'm very happy with this one

Eventually though, a second police officer showed up. He came to visit because he was,
erm, ah, oh yes "concerned we were going to rappel down the cliff" - as Playful's
harness could have been a rappelling harness. His effort at keeping a straight face
while saying this were a tribute to the RCMP.

And after that, a third one showed up! I think it went something like this on the police
radio:

"Mike, go take a look behind the supreme court building"
"What's up Bob?"
"Oh nothing bad! Just go take a look"
"What?"
"Trust me. You'll thank me later!"

... and then ten minute later, Bob radios Joe (names made up). The third guy was
pretty friendly too and chatted for a while. Eventually they left and we kept shooting.

There is a large fountain behind the Supreme Court building, but unfortunately it
seems to be permanently turned off. It's a shame, because it would be rather nice, this
spot is very beautiful, quiet, has a great view and is not used to its full potential.
It would have made for great shots too.

But we made due, and had fun.

The light was very strong this day - too strong, and I had to use fill flash to avoid
having harsh shadows across the face (I didn't always succeed). A light cloud cover is
usually preferable to this strong sunlight. However, it did make for very strong shine
on the latex, and I noticed this reflection on Playful's back. We re-polished, tried a
few angle and exposure, and eventually this was the result:

I thought this was pretty neat, but I wasn't prepared on how *astounded* people were
by the photo, in particular on Fetlife or Deviant art where hundreds of people commented
or added the photo to their collections. I achieved this with a long exposure and then
a fair bit of photoshop because there was TOO much light (oops). However, without the
strong sunlight and my noticing by luck the effect, this wouldn't have happened.

So after this, we decided to head home... but after seeing THREE RCMP officers, we were
feeling a bit bold, and the ladies walked home in their outfits. On the way, we stopped
on the corner of Slater and Kent, where one can see the sculpture "Northshore", by Noel
Harding. Of course, we locals call it "the giant teapot". It does make for a very
cool backdrop though, so we started shooting again.

The streets were pretty quiet... but not completely empty. This sculpture is right besides
the patio of the Royal Oak, a local pub. Two ladies there asked if were were shooting
for a magazine, and were *astonished* that we weren't.

Kent and Slater is a very busy intersection during the week, not so much during the
weekend - but there WERE people around as you can see. Due to a strange combination
of perfect alignment of some of the lines and the low contrast between the concrete
platform and sidewalk, Curious sorts of looks like she's 20 feet tall here, which is
a pretty amusing notion - and perhaps slightly thought provoking too.

IMG_9068 (322K)

The colours and angles of the building around are a really neat contrast I find in this
shot, I really want to shoot again in this area. I'm very happy with this shot, and
sometimes I'm tempted to send it to the sculptor...

IMG_9075 (619K)

And that's it folks! I hope you had fun looking at these, we certainly had fun
with this shoot despite all the difficulties. It certainly has made us bolder... stay
tuned! :D

IMG_9080 (309K)

I guess I should have a final word of thanks for the RCMP for being well, very tolerant
and understanding. There aren't many countries where this would be possible, and
this is a tribute to the force and to Canadian democratic values :)
