Various events 2007

Well, it got to the point there was just too much stuff to post for one various events
page, so I started dividing them by year. Enjoy!

Taken at the Montreal April's Fool party by Isabeau in 2007, by Angelique (from the
lair). I have an oddly mischievous look on my face for some reason... I blurred the
faces of the various party goers, but I think this gives a pretty good idea of the
kind of people there - and this is only a small section of the crowd! More pictures
from this event in the Kendl section (can you spot her here? ;) )

In June, my friend Sekhmet decided to try my sleepsack at a private party. I think
she had a good time! (Twist your head around to see the smile ;) )

In September, a weekend after the Fetish Weekend in Montreal, we had our (somewhat)
annual Fetish Ball in Ottawa, with about 250 people attending. Not bad at all for
the city I think! Here I am with a group of friends and acquaintances, including kendl
and Alura.

still, sorry folks*

For Halloween, I had quite the adventure. I went to the Halloween party at Breathless
(local bdsm club). I've decided to dress up as a mad scientist - labcoat, strange
instruments (some of dubious scientific value like a crop), gasmask, elbow length rubber
gloves, more rubber etc. In fact, the only skin showing is my eyes, and even that's
behind the gasmask lenses. I know that since the goth community is co-hosting the
event that the club is going to be packed, and that changing room space will be almost
non-existent. Besides, it takes too long to put on the outfit. So I think "oh what
the heck, it's Halloween weekend. Besides, my face will be hidden" and I put the
costume on at home.

So I head out to the club - it's a bit far to walk and I decide to take the bus. I'm
waiting for said bus and I see this young woman coming up the street on a bicycle. I
can see she's wearing some sort of costume - a black body suit with ears, spines on
her back and a big, stuffed spiny tail (some sort of dragon?). So I wave at her since
she's wearing an outfit.

She sees me and she *shrieks*. She pedals furiously forward, does a sharp u-turn, parks
her bikes, and hides behind the corner of the building. 3 seconds later, she runs around
the corner and charges forward, and starts *hitting* me with her tail!

I am a bit taken aback by this - obviously she's being playful, but the over enthusiasm
is a bit unsettling. She then starts talking excitedly about going to some party that's
a big secret called "a loha" for all the rejected animals. At this point I declined,
stating I already was going to another party. She then jumped on her bike and sped off.

In all my years of Halloween parties and kinky events, this is probably the oddest
thing that has happened to me. That said, the Halloween party itself was pretty good,
I met new people and was nominated (but did not win) for most original costume. It was
pretty cool to see how people who aren't in the scene reacted to the outfit. Some thought
it was cool, some were a bit scared, and some were just *drawn* to it like moths to
a flame.

And the mask - I really like this picture :).

At breathless again, a friend of mine who has been really interested in latex for a
while yet hesitant to move forward finally took the plunge and purchased some latex,
a skirt and long sleeved top from Twist My Rubber Arm. The reaction was... dramatic.
She's a pretty "touch oriented" person, and she went in sort of sensory overload, had
a hard time finishing sentences etc. I think a new latex fan is born!

Sorry for the poor quality of the images, it wasn't my camera.

And that's it for 2007! There are many other events I went to that unfortunately, no
photos were taken. And some of those were completely awesome (especially the Passion
party in Montreal, or Hexmas in Ottawa), but I guess you will just have to take my
word for it!
